Agawa Canyon Fall Tour Itinerary September 24-30

 

September 24: Sunday departure times and locations

Unicity (Cda Tire) 7am

Tim Horton's (Henderson & McLeod) 7:30 am

Fermor & Ste Annes 8am

 

Clearing customs at Emerson:

We will stop at Cda Duty Free - Clear Customs - Stop Pembina Duty Free for Pre-Order.

 

Lunch will be in Bemidji approximately 12:30-1pm

Check into Hotel Black Bear Casino & Resort approx. 4:30 - Evening on your own- Breakfast on your own. Sage Deli opens at 7am

 

Monday: Depart hotel at 8am, today we travel from Duluth Minnesota into Wisconsin and onto Michigan, stop for lunch approximately 12:30 (Note today we have a time change -we lose 1hour)

Check into Holiday Inns & Suites Sault Ste Marie, Ont. 3-nights stay 5:30-6 pm Local time. Breakfast included- breakfast starts at 6:30am

 

Tuesday: Today is our Train Tour Day MUST BE ON TIME Board bus at 7am

This is a full day, ensure you bring comfortable footwear, jacket, cameras.

Ensure you make time for your breakfast.

Trian lunch includes Bottled water and your choice of: a Chicken or Veggie wrap (we will need to know which of these would be your choice -please let us know by the 15th.)

Note: there is a dining car with the train where you may purchase beverages or other food items if you wish. We are back at our hotel approximately by 6:30ish. Evening on your own. More information on this will be provided on the bus.

 

Wednesday: This is our outing to Mackinac Island, Board bus 7:30 we must be punctual as we must board a Ferry to get to the Island.

 NOTE: You MUST have your passport with you as we clear customs leaving Sault Ste Marie.

 

Upon arrival on the Island a carriage will be waiting to board for your tour of the Island and onto" the Arch". After carriage tour you will be on your own to explore Mackinac and find some great fudge. More information on the bus.

We will meet back at the dock for 2:45 for a 3pm departure back to the mainland.

Arriving back to Sault Ste. Marie we have a supper and tour of the Canadian Bushplane Centre. More info bus.

 

Thursday: 8am load luggage and depart, we clear customs as we leave Canada. The beautiful fall colors should be all around us as we enter Michigan. Today we have our boat cruise on Lake Superior, you must be at the boat dock by 12:30 this will give you 1 1/2 for lunch and check out the area before you need to be at the Dock.

 

Arriving back from the cruise we head out for our 1-night stay in Marquette, Mi. Breakfast included. Evening on your own

 

Friday: Board bus at 8:30am, we arrive in Duluth where we will stop for Lunch and shopping at the Miller Hill Mall. before checking into our Hotel Black Bear Casino & Resort for our last evening on the road. Breakfast on your own, Sage Deli opens at 7am

More info on bus as we would like to get together this last evening to exchange stories.

 

Saturday: Load luggage 9am and depart

Luggage must be separated into drop off locations ( will explain on bus)

 Will stop for lunch and grocery shopping en route back to Winnipeg.

Approximate arrival first stop 6:30ish

Information for bus:

We strongly suggest your pack an "overnight bag" this in not intended to be taken on the bus but rather kept separate in the cargo bays, it will be easier if you do not have to bring all your luggage into the hotel for the 1-night stays.

Not mandatory but helpful.

 

Bring your medication as required we suggest bring an extra day quantity.

Bring Canadian and American funds as you are back and forth between the countries several times.

Seat rotation will take place on our travel days, not on outing days sit at will.

Bring some small change loonies and toonies for games of chance we will play on the bus ($10-$12)

A small bus pillow, book, camera, light jackets, sunglasses, phone charges.

If you want to bring a cooler it must fit under the seat and if you plan on having ice in it it must be a hard liner.

 

NO Fruit (bananas OK) or Vegetables for crossing the border.
