 SEPTEMBER 30- October 5

Winnipeg to Thunder Bay

Our adventure begins as we depart Winnipeg and travel eastward toward Thunder Bay, Ontario.

As we make our way across Northern Ontario, we will stop at spectacular Kakabeka Falls for a photo opportunity.

Known as the “Niagara of the North,” Kakabeka Falls is one of Northwestern Ontario's most impressive natural attractions. Take some time to stretch your legs, capture photographs and enjoy the beautiful scenery before continuing on to Thunder Bay.

We then continue to Thunder Bay for our first overnight stay.

DAY 2OCTOBER 1

Thunder Bay to Sault Ste. Marie

We continue our journey to Sault Ste. Marie, where we check into our hotel for a comfortable three-night stay.

The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Relax at the hotel or take some time to explore Sault Ste. Marie on your own.

DAY 3OCTOBER 2

Miss Soo Boat Tour & Bushplane Heritage Centre

Today brings two wonderful Sault Ste. Marie experiences.

 

Morning at Leisure

Enjoy a relaxed morning to explore, shop or simply enjoy some free time before our afternoon excursion.

Afternoon — Miss Soo Boat Tour

Enjoy a fascinating cruise aboard the Miss Soo through the Sault Ste. Marie locks.

Experience this remarkable engineering system from the water while enjoying the scenery and learning more about the history and operation of the St. Marys River and the Soo Locks.

 

Evening — Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre

This evening, we'll visit the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, where you can step into Canada's fascinating history of bush flying, aviation and forest firefighting.

Explore historic aircraft and learn about the pilots, aircraft and technology that helped connect Canada's remote northern communities and protect Canada's forests.

 

A Special Evening Together

Following our museum visit, enjoy a beautiful private supper held at the museum — a wonderful evening shared together with our group.

DAY 4 OCTOBER 3

AGAWA CANYON TRAIN TOUR

The Highlight of Our Journey!

Today we board the train in Sault Ste. Marie for one of Northern Ontario's most spectacular experiences — the Agawa Canyon Train Tour.

Climb aboard and travel north through the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield.

The journey takes us through forests, alongside lakes and rivers, and deep into the spectacular Agawa Canyon.

 Fall Colors at Their Best

Travelling at the beginning of October gives us an excellent opportunity to experience Northern Ontario's magnificent autumn scenery.

As the train winds its way through the wilderness, watch for brilliant shades of red, orange, gold and yellow filling the landscape.

Don't forget your camera — this is a photographer's dream!

After our canyon adventure, we return to Sault Ste. Marie and our hotel.

 

Evening at Leisure

Following this unforgettable day in the Canadian wilderness, the evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

 DAY 5 OCTOBER 4

Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay

After breakfast, we depart Sault Ste. Marie and begin our journey back toward Thunder Bay.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Northern Ontario as we travel westward.

Overnight in Thunder Bay.

DAY 6 OCTOBER 5

Thunder Bay to Winnipeg

We begin our final day of travel as we make our way back to Winnipeg.

 

Terry Fox Memorial

Along the way, we will stop at the Terry Fox Memorial, paying tribute to one of Canada's most inspirational heroes and the incredible legacy of his Marathon of Hope.

Take some time to reflect on Terry's remarkable story before we continue our journey westward.

We then make our way back to Winnipeg, bringing our Agawa Canyon Train Tour         adventure to a close.
